Overview

Keeping calcium, alkalinity and magnesium in balance is only half the job in a mixed or SPS-dominant reef — corals also draw down a long list of trace and minor elements that most simple dosing routines miss entirely. Components Pro from Aquaforest is the brand's most advanced supplementation system, built around a concentrated, ready-to-dose set of major elements enriched with the full range of trace elements corals need to stay in top condition.

It's aimed squarely at aquarists who want precise, individual control over their water chemistry rather than a one-size-fits-all all-in-one.

Key features
  • Concentrated formula — twice the strength of Aquaforest's standard Component range, so it's dosed at half the volume and lasts longer
  • Enriched with the full spread of trace elements corals consume alongside calcium, alkalinity and magnesium
  • Supports ionic balance and helps stabilise pH
  • Ready to dose directly, with no mixing or dissolving required
  • Suited to precise, element-by-element dosing based on individual test results
Who it's for

Best suited to mature, established reef tanks with a heavier coral load — particularly mixed reef and SPS-dominant systems where consumption of major and trace elements is high and demands genuinely individual attention. Less experienced or lower-demand tanks are often better served by simpler all-in-one products.

Setup & tips
  • Dose based on your tank's actual consumption of calcium, alkalinity and magnesium, adjusting each element independently rather than dosing everything equally
  • Regular water testing is essential to get the most from this system — it's designed for aquarists dialling things in, not guessing
  • Being twice the concentration of standard Component products, halve your usual dosing volume when switching over
  • Store away from direct light and follow the recommended storage temperature to preserve the formula
