Overview

For reef keepers wanting a genuinely serious plug-and-play system without stepping up to a full-size aquarium, the Max Nano G2 XLL from Red Sea is the largest and most capable model in the Max Nano G2 range. At around 53 gallons, it's a pro-sized reef with all the convenience of the smaller Max Nano systems.

It comes fully equipped with dual lighting, dual return pumps, and a dedicated protein skimmer, all pre-configured to work together straight out of the box.

Key features
  • Approximately 53 gallon total system volume with a rimless design in 12mm ultra-clear glass
  • Includes two Red Sea REEF-SPEC, WiFi-connected ReefLED 60 lighting units
  • Rear sump with two 1550 LPH Sicce return pumps, circulating the entire system volume around 10 times per hour
  • 225-micron filter sock and a dedicated MSK900 protein skimmer implementing Red Sea's REEF-SPEC criteria
  • ReefATO+ and NanoMat-ready rear sump for future upgrades
  • Dual power centres with convenient on/off switches for pumps and skimmer
What's in the box
  • Max Nano G2 XLL aquarium
  • Rear filtration sump with dual return pumps, skimmer and filter sock
  • 2x ReefLED 60 lighting units
Who it's for

Advanced reef keepers or first-timers wanting a genuinely serious, feature-rich system that won't consume the space or setup time of a full traditional aquarium build.

Setup & tips
  • Pair with the matching cabinet for a fully integrated look and hidden equipment storage
  • Use the ReefBeat app to coordinate both lighting units for a consistent, unified lighting schedule
  • Fit the ReefATO+ (sold separately) for automated top-off with temperature monitoring and leak detection
  • Add a heater, which is not included, before setting the system up for the first time
