Overview
The AquaIllumination Hydra 32/64 Flex Arm 18" is a tank-mounted gooseneck arm for a single Hydra 32HD or Hydra 64HD. It clamps directly to the aquarium and holds the light over the water. You don't need a ceiling anchor, a hanging kit or a canopy hiding your reef.
It's a simple fix for a common headache: getting your light in the right spot while keeping the setup clean and open. The flexible, silicone-sleeved arm bends by hand, so you can fine-tune height and position over your corals, or swing the fixture clear when you need to get your hands in the tank.

Who it's for
This arm is for reef keepers running a Hydra 32HD or Hydra 64HD who want an open-top look without a canopy or a ceiling-hung setup. It's especially well suited to rimless tanks and cube-style displays, where a single Hydra on an arm keeps the view uncluttered.
- Rimless tanks: this is what the mount is designed for, with glass up to around 25 mm thick.
- Rimmed tanks: it can be adapted with a little extra effort, so check your bracing and trim before buying.
- One light per arm: if you're running multiple Hydras over a longer tank, you'll need one arm per fixture, or you could consider AI's rail or multi-light mounting options instead.
Please note: this arm is not compatible with the older Hydra 26 or Hydra 52.
Setup & tips
- Check your glass first: measure your tank wall thickness before ordering to make sure the clamps will fit.
- Mount at the back and bend forward: clamp to the rear panel and shape the arm so the light sits centrally over your main coral area. Then set your final height to suit your lighting plan.
- Avoid overworking the gooseneck: set the position, then leave it. Constantly bending it back and forth isn't what the arm is designed for.
- Leave a drip loop: after clipping the power cable along the arm, let it hang in a loop below the power point so any water runs off before reaching the plug.
